The medical bed slid out from the wall with a quiet hiss and Ivan sat down, angling himself so he could see the door. He glanced up at the clock, it was 8:17 AM. Matthew was late. But he was almost always late. Ivan knew he'd been expecting the delivery of a sample of the stripped leaf hiribring flower from one of the planet Rama's moons, Indra perhaps. He was probably caught of in his studies of that.
Ivan settled his back against the wall and swung his legs onto the bed, crossing them at the ankle. Nurse Lilli was probably on her way to remind him again, and he had a little time to kill.

It was 08:27 when the Doctor came in. The blonde was muttering something of something and the Canadian seemed upset. However when his mauve eyes settled on Ivan he blinked and the gears stopped and rewound.
"Oh that's right, you're here for a check up, yes." The short blonde stated, though it was formed like a question. Matthew held up a finger and walked to the far end of the wing. A few minutes later he came back with his electric clipboard and the stylist that was with it. He looked at Ivan and offered no expression. "Shall we start?"

Wordlessly Ivan sat up and began to unbutton his uniform. The muscles of his shoulders rippled as he shrugged out of the coat. Underneath he wore a white tank top, he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Would you like me to remove this as well?"

The Doctor appraised Ivan's body like a jeweler would a gem. He took in any new sign of anything and mentally noted it. From the outside though it looked like he had zoned out. The Canadian shrugged. "It would be better to do it now rather then later when I check your heart." He stated simply. Seemingly absently he moved the pen around the pad of the board but in truth he was taking notes from his observations.

Ivan shrugged and removed the tank top. The only thing he now wore were the arm sheaths carrying his knives, having removed his other hardware before coming to the medical wing.
"Very little has changed, Doctor," he said. "The bruises are from practice, nothing more."

"Are you sure? Nothing else hurts?" He came over and prodded the other. "How is your drinking?" He asked as if he were talking about the weather to a friend on the street. The male with dappled hair leaned in to examine the Russian as a whole and the finer details all at once.

Ivan shrugged again, earning a small glare from Matthew as his shoulders rose and fell just under his nose.
"It is nothing significant," he said. "I drink. Can't you smell it?"

"Oui, I can, hence why I asked." Matthew replied with a look of "I'm not dumb" that teenagers often give to their parents. He then took a thimble like object from his pocket, placed it on his finger then ran it over Ivan's chest. It was his stethoscope in a way, it took his heart beat and played it across the clipboard for Matthew to watch. It was recorded and compared to the last check ups for any changes that were notable.

Ivan smirked. "No significant change there either. I drink, I am Russian." When Matthew removed the stethoscope, he raised an eyebrow.
"I experienced a spasm about a week ago, but it was not painful." he said.

Matthew cocked a slim, honey brow to the information. "A spasm? How long did it last, what were you doing at the time and could why the frack didn't you come see me right afterwards?" He bombarded the other, removing the finger and jotting things down as if he were solving a math formula.

"But the last time that happened is far closer then any other two." Matthew stated as he looked back through the history of Ivan's heart. "I'm not sure what it means quite yet, but I will find out. Until then do things that will strengthen it and lay off the booze. Boozes hurt both the liver and the heart." he paused then added. "And no red meat."

Ivan's eyes went blank and his lips tightened ever so slightly. The red meat was nothing, but the drinking, that would be difficult. "Very well. I shall try."
