(So… here’s a bad app where I tried to get away with editing as little as I could of the original. Oh boy.)
Player Name: Australia / Sansixa / 7broken7 / [insert name here]
Character: Australia
Name: Cody Casida
Age: 24
Affiliation: AFN
Occupation and/or Rank: The Division of Exploration and Discovery (Lead Explorer / Wildlife Survival Trainer) / Arthur Kirkland’s personalman servant assistant
Birthplace: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island, Earth
Appearance: Cody stands at an average height of 5’10”. His hair is chestnut brown and messily slicked back (think of his hair like Germany’s except it’s messier looking and not perfectly straight); with two strands of hair on the right side that seem to defy gravity, no matter how hard he tries to keep them down(they look like two over-cooked noodles that Arthur would make). He has forest green eyes and brows very much like Arthur’s, but slightly smaller. He wears a band-aid on his nose to cover a small scar received from an alien wombat-look-alike (at least that’s what he says). Although not overly muscular, Cody has a decent amount of physical strength do to his exploring and wildlife experiences on the small planet containing the Canberra colony. He wears the assigned AFN uniform, along with his black “outback” hat that rests on his back, held there by a drawstring around his neck.
Personality: Despite not sharing his own feelings often, Cody is very kind and considerate of others and is very willing to listen to their opinions. He is surprisingly sensitive, but will only show it when broken down enough to be made vulnerable. He is rather eccentric and often does outrageous things, giving some people the impression that he is dangerous. He believes in at least trying to keep the peace, however, when provoked enough, he has an incredibly bad temper and will go as far as harming the provoker in question. This irritable behaviour is also apparent when another person gets too comfortably close to Arthur. In these special cases, it is very possible for Cody to go into a fit of jealously. Due to not knowing how to deal with his feelings for Arthur (or negative feelings, for that matter), Cody turns to alcohol in an attempt to make himself feel better.
AU History: As a child, Cody Kirkland was never one to especially like rules. Feeling a bit oppressed by his older brothers, he was one to purposely try and break the rules that he felt had tied him down. He was significantly younger than his brothers, and that came with reason. You see, Cody was only really their half-brother; their mother’s husband having died even before Cody’s youngest older brother was born. The story behind the origins of his birth is still a little vague to him, as he was never really told a full story.
Nonetheless, he was a nice boy. A trouble-maker, but in no respects violent or cruel. Through all of this, he was able to find at least one friend in his youngest older brother: Arthur. Despite the significant gap between their ages, they had been best buds since little Cody could crawl after Arthur. Maybe it was because the two of them were the youngest and got picked on by their older brothers. Maybe it was because the two of them had a knack for causing mischief. Whatever the reason, the two had a strong bond.
However, all good things must come to an end. As they grew older, Arthur straightened out his act and their bond began to dissolve. It wasn’t like they hated each other or anything. It was simply that their common interests were beginning to dwindle in numbers. While this saddened Cody, they still got along decently. The young boy clung to that as much as he could. Arthur was the only person that he felt he had.
Then Arthur left to go sign up for the AFN. The younger sibling felt completely abandoned and, preceded by an immature fit of anger and running away from home, Cody Kirkland became Cody Casida. It was a year or so of drinking and non-stop traveling around the galaxy until he found himself amongst who were known as the Canberra colony on one of the latest colonized planets. Although his drinking problem continued (although it did die down a bit), Cody began to find a certain sense of peace among the colonies on this small planet. The wilderness on the planet was unreal, and this was when Cody first discovered his life’s calling of studying plants and animals. Never having been able to really connect well to others, he found it easy to connect to other animals. Through this, he became a sort of survival guide for the others. The people of the colonies (especially Canberra) respected Cody and relied on him to teach themselves and newcomers to the planet about how to survive in peace with the harsh wildlife around them.
It was during one of his expeditions in the wild that he met his best friend. Under a tree, there happened to be a small, furry, alien that looked almost identical to that of a koala. This little creature seemed to have been abandoned. Feeling sorry for the animal, Cody made his way over and attempted to give the baby alien-marsupial food from his pack. It did not end very well. After receiving a couple of stitches in his arm, Cody returned to find the same koala still under the tree, now struggling by itself. After a few weeks of gradual contact with it, the baby creature and Cody developed a bond and the alien was given the name Joey. From then on, Cody always had a small traveling companion.
One day, while Cody was at one of the colony’s hat shops, he happened to lose Joey. After a few hours of searching, he found the koala-look-alike in what was known on Earth as an “outback” hat. Removing Joey from the hat while he was asleep was not a wise idea. Two more stitches were given to Cody and the hat was purchased.
The more his friendship with Joey strengthened, the more often Cody was reminded of his brother and the close friendship that they once had. He didn’t know how to categorize this new emotion he was feeling, but it was somehow different than before. Reality eventually hit him, after a few short waves of denial. Cody realized he was, and always had been, in love with his own brother.
His time in the colony of Canberra was coming to an end. News of the Behemoth disaster reached the small planet, and one of the largest names mentioned compelled Cody to become a recruit of the AFN. This was the head of the Parliamentary Division: Arthur Kirkland. Just before leaving, however, Cody went back to the tree where he first found Joey one more time. With the help of some of the locals, he took one of the branches and made the boomerang he still uses to this day. Call him sentimental, but he wanted to have something that had a close link to the place he had grown to call his home. With this done, he and Joey left for the AFN Recruitment Centre.
Noted for his sense of adventure, love of animals, survival skills, and decent physical strength, Cody was fortunate enough to avoid the usual protocols and quickly rise up to become the lead explorer in the Division of Exploration and Discovery. Although he was not the head of the whole department itself, Cody grew fond of the position and enjoyed every moment of it.
His reunion with his beloved brother soon came. It was a bitter-sweet moment. Despite wanting to hug his brother and tell him how he felt, Cody kept it hidden. It was the one thing he didn’t have the courage to do. Besides, he doubted Arthur would approve. They had not spoken in almost twelve years, and by now he was sure that Arthur had heard of his leaving home. However, Cody was elated to have Arthur offer him a position as one of his personal assistants (when he was not on a mission for the Division of Exploration and Discovery, of course). Cody still wonders why Arthur offered the job to him. Cody doubted his brother had forgiven him for running.
Nonetheless, this is now where Cody stands. He is the Lead Explorer of the Division of Exploration and Discovery. When not out on a mission (which is more often than one would think) or giving wildlife survival training, Cody works as his beloved older brother’s personal assistant. In the end, Cody kept the last name Casida in a small attempt to get Arthur to not think of him as a brother, allowing the possibility of something more between them. While in this position of a personal assistant, he is constantly making sure that no one gets too close to Arthur, and is trying ever so desperately to repair the bond they once shared. He hopes to one day make this bond mean as much to Arthur as it means to himself.
Equipment: The only weapon Cody keeps on his person at all times is a boomerang made from the wood of the tree where he found Joey, his alien, koala-look-alike friend. Carved into it is a design with a platypus on it. Cody keeps said weapon in an inside pocket of his jacket.
Other weapons given to him by the AFN include a rifle that uses stun bullets (bullets that generate enough electricity to be equivalent to a stun gun) and a regular pistol. However, Cody never uses these and often leaves them behind, much to most of the other members' displeasure.
There are only two pieces of equipment given to him by the AFN that Cody actually uses. The first is a small, flat, square-shaped screen (think of it like today's IPad, only small enough to fit inside a pocket). He uses this to record information on animals, plants, and other important geographical finds. In addition, he can use this machine to look up all stored information to determine if something that he finds is similar to something that was once on Earth or can be found on another planet (basically, think of this device as if it were something like a Pokédex). Overall, it is like a .doc slate, but has a few special abilities. He only keeps this on him during missions and AFN meetings, keeping it in another inside pocket of his jacket (name of instrument to be created soon).
The second piece of equipment is a small radio used to contact the Division of Exploration and Discovery, or anyone else with a radio, if something goes awry during a mission, or if someone else needs to contact him. This is only worn when Cody is not in the AFN building, and is clipped to his belt.
Any Other Information: Unless stated otherwise, Joey is always resting inside Cody’s hat. He is kept safely in place due to the fact that the hat presses against Cody’s back along the bottom. In addition, Cody loves his hat, and is almost never without it. Also, Cody has a very soft spot for animals, as already indicated.
(ooc: The things edited in this profile were discussed with the current Arthur. Thus, all should be good.~ However, if they don’t like something, they can tell me and I’ll change stuff around.)
