Player Name: Diff/Ria
Character: America/USA
Name: Alfred F. Jones
Age: 27
Affiliation: The Allied Federation of Nations
Occupation and/or Rank: Lt. Col, Public face of the Armed Division
Birthplace: Doesn’t really know for sure, however a good part of his childhood was spent in Boston, MA, United States, EARTH.
Appearance: Alfred is a tall guy, hitting just at 6’. Broad shouldered, and fit, his muscular build fills out his height. But it’s offset by an angular face, with a boyish charm. A pair of simple, silver, square framed glasses perch on the bridge of his nose, accenting his bright blue eyes. And a broad, genuine smile is practically perpetually plastered on his face. A crop if thick, sandy blonde hair adorns his head, often parted to the left. However, a stray cowlick always manages to stay upright, however, no matter what he does to it. When exposed, a large, intricate tattoo of a bald eagle stretches over his left shoulder, and over the upper part of his arm. The wings are spread, and its talons grip a banner that wraps about the upper portion of his bicep, sporting the date 1776.
On a day off:
Personality: Alfred Jones is a very outgoing individual. He thrives on social interaction, and loves to be around people. There’s almost always a smile on his face, and a bounce in his step, and an overwhelming determination reflected in his eyes, to take on any problem or challenge, no matter how big or small. He’s a born leader, but with an independent streak a mile wide. He won’t hesitate to take charge if he feels things aren’t going the right way, even if his help isn’t particularly wanted. Or, he’ll take the initiative to get it done himself. Alfred also has a tendency to be loud and boisterous, but all in good nature. And when put with his strong sense of justice, these things can cause him to be a bit abrasive, though he doesn’t mean to be. It’s actually quite the opposite, as he is a very caring person, and strives to help others before he helps himself, often to the point of neglecting his own issues in order to bend over backwards for someone else. If there’s anything he’s good for, it’s his tenacity and generosity. Perhaps that’s why everyone keeps him around.
AU History:
Alfred F. Jones was the oldest child born to an unwed couple who spent a good deal of time in space. Even as a toddler, Alfred took special interest in helping tend to his younger brother, Matthew. This responsibility fell even harder on him at the age of six, when a trading accident with volatile chemicals robbed them of both of their parents.
Alfred and Matthew were sent to a boarding school until other arrangements could be made. Alfred became very protective of his younger brother, and the two were nigh inseparable. Until of course, it became mandatory. At the age of twelve, all students were required to take an achievement test to determine future careers.
Alfred was then sent to live in a foster home on Earth, in the booming city of Boston, Massachusetts. He always had a bit of a rocky relationship with his foster family. It wasn't that he wasn't grateful for them, or the things they offered him, it was more or less that they never really meshed, nor felt like a family to him, especially when he was forced to leave his brother behind.
When he was a teenager, he became a little more self reliant, working odd jobs, to earn a source of income. It was during this time he met a man named Arthur Kirkland, who he waited on at a restaurant while the Englishman had a layover in his transit. The two supposed the other was a decent guy, swapped contact information, and kept in touch.
However, disagreements became more heated between Alfred and his foster parents, and eventually led to Alfred leaving home at the age of sixteen. He didn't let it get him down, and instead took the opportunity to forge some documents, lie about his age, and enlist in the United States military. It was only half way through basic training that the military found Alfred's true age, discharging him, and suggested he return when he was old enough. Alfred was left without a home, and without a job, so he turned to the only person he knew: Arthur Kirkland. In the interim, he made himself a nuisance who paid rent, and lived on a diet consisting of mostly ramen noodles (though not really, however Arthur's cooking was pretty terrible.), much to the Englishman's chagrin.
At the age of 18, Alfred re-enlisted in the army. He quickly rose his way through the ranks and divisions, starting infantry before being trained for black ops. His diligence and skill in combat did not escape the notice of the Allied Federation of Nations. It wasn’t long before he was recruited. Due to his diligence, he rose in rank quickly. He served just under Ludwig's command, and held the utmost respect for the former Colonel. And while he had no direct involvement, he always felt that there was some sort of ulterior motive behind the aftermath of the Behemoth incident, and he wasn't sure who to pin the blame on, the AFN or his superior. Though cautious, Alfred accepted his promotion without much question, and has since asserted himself to picking up where things left off, but in his own way.
Equipment: Standard issue AFN Armed Division pistol stays nearly constantly at his hip, even in peaceful situations. It’s concealed when in civilian attire. He also almost always has a pack of cigarettes in his pocket. He’s really trying to quit, but it’s become more of a comfort object anymore. And a pocket knife, small but effective. He is also known to wear dog tags from his US military days. Whether or not they’re actually his is unknown except to him, and those who manage to take a good look at them.
Any other info: Alfred suffers from dissociative personality disorder. Episodes aside from the one severe incident in his late teenage years have been incredibly mild, and are few and far between. The extent of them have been random bouts of seemingly out of character tirades on the radically opposite end of social issues of what he is known to support, or simple statements of the same nature, usually scathing. The incident is not something he readily talks about and only a select few individuals know of its occurrence.
He also has a mild form of post-traumatic stress disorder from his time in the US military, and combat.
