Player Name: Hill/Alfie
Character: Denmark
Name: Soren Dreyer
Age: 24
Affiliation: AFN,
Occupation and/or Rank: The Division of Exploration and Discovery, Maintenance and First-class Explorer
Birthplace: Gladsaxe II
Appearance: Soren, quite the handsome Danish man, stands at a lovely 5'11”. His spiked-up blond hair (which is more him just forgetting to brush his hair in the morning and it working out for him) and blue eyes lend to his charm, a charm that both benefits and faults him. While Soren despises the AFN uniform, he wears it with the least amount of washing and ironing he can find the care to muster. However, casually, he wears this slick number.
Personality: Soren is a bit of an arrogant fool. He loves to joke and have fun, leaving work in the dust to get to the nearest bar the second he can. However, he wants a drinking buddy and someone to share some stir-fried noodles with. His arrogance, though, leads him to be hard to control for his superiors. He even goes as far as to try to boss around his bosses.
Unfortunately, this young, dashing Danish lad is a bit 'bull-headed.' He is stubborn, believing that he is always right and always more capable of doing a better job despite his lack of taking up responsibility. However, when he has a job he wants to do, he's diligent, being more than able to fulfill his duty to the AFN. But, keywords are 'a job he wants to do.'
Along with being stubborn and fun-loving, he is charming. He can put the moves on anyone, or, at least, he thinks he can. This idea of him being a 'sex-bomb' has led him to get into a bad situation with Thorvald and Ari. It also leads him to looking like a fool, considering he thinks of himself as an 'awesome' person (he has a bit of a Gilbert complex).
AU History: Soren is the son of a ship repair shop owner who never married the woman who gave birth to his only son, but stays with her. However, the state of his parents' relationship has never bothered him, especially with their unending 'war' of seeing how many more lovers one partner would have than the other. To this day, they still fight over it, as far as he knows.
Being around the ship repair shop taught Soren many things. It taught him how to repair most machines, taught him 'rough people skills,' and taught him that pirates were awesome, especially when there were kids around to play with. Gladsaxe II, a small, but busy, rundown space colony of Denmark, was the setting of events that still effect Soren. These events include Thorvald and Ari of the ship Vanir. Needing repairs, Soren's family along with Thorvald and Ari's family became close. Thus, began his life predicament.
He was always fond of them both, but, Ari being younger than him by almost ten years stunted their possible friendship along with Ari's almost-possessive love for his older brother. Years would past, and Soren and Thorvald would begin a relationship together which also began Ari and Soren's lack of communication. However, Soren isn't sure as to why Ari hated him so much.
However, on a whim, and maybe a little goading from a AFN-recruiter (“the ability to say you're the awesomest person on this tiny little run-down colony!”), Soren found himself enlisting under the AFN's Exploration Department. It gave him more than enough reason to explore the vast reaches of the universe AWAY from Gladsaxe II while also helping him fulfill a love to fix ships and other machines while making an 'honest' living. Besides, he had always wanted to amount to better than everyone else on his colony.
A while later, though, Soren would find out about the Vanir being captured by the AFN's Armed Division, capturing everyone except for Thorvald, who he lost contact with. Thinking that their relationship was a bust and hoping to take in Ari when he was released by the AFN on account of being too young to press charges/detain in prison to make things up with Thorvald led him to pick up taking care of the younger Vanir brother.
Time passed (about five years, to be exact), and Ari and Soren grew to at leas t be able to stand one another. Soren tried to be a fatherly/brotherly figure to Ari, but, was unable to deny his attraction for the younger man... which brings Soren to present time.
Equipment: Soren has to carry an AFN-issued gun, but rather dislikes long-ranged weaponry. He prefers his axe, which when fully extended, it longer than him. The blade is nothing more than highly-charged energy which he can turn off and slip into his pocket once he has fully sheathed the metal rod within the 'blade.' He also has a few knives hidden in his boots and belt just in case.
Any other info: Soren has a drinking problem. A MAJOR one. However, he's a nice drunk. He just wants to get into everyone's pants... well, he's more adamant about it when he's drunk. When he's sober, he wants to get into everyone's pants. ... Okay, well, maybe not everyone... most people... He wants to get into most people's pants.
Soren also has a gift given to him by Ari. While not much of a ideal jewelry man, Soren loves the necklace and wears it everyday... especially considering it makes his relationship with Ari easier to manage.
