Player Name: Solar, Soleil, Lexi, or any of my characters' names/aliases
Character: Japan
Name: Honda Kiku
Age: 24
Affiliation: The Axis
Occupation and/or Rank: Helmsman of the Axis and resident hacker
Birthplace: Neotokyo (A sub-settlement of the colony ASIA-3)
Appearance: Image to be posted soon Kiku stands about 165cm (5'4") with short black hair and dark brown eyes. When not wearing the outfit pictured above, Kiku can be found relaxing in his quarters wearing a worn navy yukata.
Personality: Kiku is usually shy and submissive around those he doesn't know very well. But once he becomes more comfortable around someone, they have a hard time getting him to shut up. He loves technology and robotics, infact, he never misses an opportunity to build a droid for some purpose or another (think Grant Imahara from Mythbusters). He also has a secret obsession with anime and shoujo manga which he developed as a teen.
AU History: Kiku was born in Neotokyo, a settlement in the colony of ASIA-3 (Asianic System of Inhabited Asteroids), as a result of an unplanned pregnancy. Scared and confused, Kiku's mother left him and his father before he was even a month old. His father, Honda Jinta, worked as a traveling businessman, though he would never travel outside of the actual colony, he often had to leave Kiku with friends and neighbors, sometimes for months at a time. One day, when Kiku was about 2, he vaguely remembers his father coming home raving about a beautiful cook he meet in New Beijing and how heavenly her noodles tasted. The next thing he knew, his father was marrying this strange, yet very nice, woman and she and her obnoxious son, Yao, were moving in with them.
Initially, the new found brothers did not get along too well. Kiku thought Yao was way too overbearing and clingy. One day their fighting had escalated to the point that Jinta, who was blessed with more patience than the gods, finally got fed up and lock the boys in his workshop until they stopped fighting. After about an hour more of arguing and fighting, they eventually got bored and started tinkering with the various electronic gadgets they could find. When their father finally went to let them out, he found that the boys had build a robotic panda and were laughing and playing well together.
From that point on, Yao and Kiku were virtually inseparable. Both were enrolled in an advanced sciences program in order to give them the opportunity to make a better life than their parents. They also took martial arts lessons when they weren't studying. Eventually both brothers landed jobs in the AFN's Exploration and Discovery Division. While both Yao and Kiku excelled in the sciences, Kiku preferred the artificial over the organic sciences, focusing his efforts into programming and robotics. After several years of working their way up the ranks, the position of head of the division became available and both Yao and Kiku were nominated as potential candidates. The two were given the task to create a project they felt would benefit the AFN the most. When the time came to present their projects to the selection committee, Kiku's device to increase the speed and efficiency of space travel mysteriously malfunctioned, Yao was awarded the head position by defult.
Kiku knew his project had to have been tampered with, but he hated to believe that his brother would stoop so low. Upon examining what was left of his device, he discovered that a spyware program had been installed in the main processor, causing it to malfunction. Now that he knew the cause, he needed to determine who was responsible and why they wanted him to fail so badly. He used his trusty pocket comp to trace the origin of the spyware and to his surprise, traced it back to the AFN's mainframe. However, before he could proceed any further an alarm went off in his dorms, the doors and windows were locked and a voice boomed over the emergency speakers located in ever room "MR. HONDA! YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT ATTEMPTING TO SABOTAGE THE MAINFRAME OF THE AFN. YOU ARE UNDER ARREST. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RESIST OR ESCAPE." Kiku knew he didn't have much time before the officers from the detention center arrived. He quickly stored his pocket comp in it's travel mode (the size of a small capsule) and hid it behind his ear, he then gathered a few necessary possessions and stashed them where he knew he could acquire them later, then he quietly sat down to await the authorities.
He knew it was no use arguing with them, he had been suspicious ever since his project and shot at head of the division had been dashed. Though he would never admit it, Kiku's best trait was that his brain worked a lot like a computer, where even under pressure, he was able to calmly assess the situation and decide on the best course of action. Once in the detention center, he was able to plan a virus in the security system and escape. He figured he would be able to contact Yao and at least explain his situation to him, but luck was only so kind that day, and he was forced to sneak aboard a random cargo ship and away from the AFN.
About a month later, he ran into Ludwig at a shipping supply port. He had heard of him through the Behemoth Incident but had never actually met him in person. After Kiku explained his situation and theories to Ludwig over a few drinks (mostly sake and lagger), he offered him a job as the Axis' helmsman.
Equipment: Kiku almost always has his pocket comp with him (he never goes anywhere without it!) which is capable of doing any amount of programing and hacking. In addition to this, he has two swords, one is a traditional antique katana, handed down through the Honda family for generations, and the other is a laser katana of his own design.
Any other info: I think that's it ;D [Apologies for the super long bio]
